Bangkok & Pattaya Trip - Day 1

Around 4.00am on 23th June 2007, my colleague and I woke up to get ready. At 5:05am, my brother sent us to LCCT at Sepang. The journey took around 45 minutes. When we reached there, we gathered with others before went to check-in.

Before we check-in, we took a photo at the LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal). Early in the morning, LCCT already full with people who going to take their flight to their destination. We ate our breakfast at LCCT's restaurant.

Around 9:50am (Bangkok time), we reached Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport. The airport was very big and bright. The air inside the building also not too cold.

Around 11am, we reached our hotel. This was the road at Bangkok city. At the right side of the photo was the hotel - First Hotel that we stayed at Bangkok. Since the first day of the trip was free and easy, we took our chance to go shopping at their local market. After we check-in and put down our luggage, we went out to eat lunch. We just ate cup noodles at 7-11, then we straight way head to our main destination - Chatuchak Market. Our tour guide told we that we could take a ride of sky train from Ratchathewi Station to Mo Chit Station, then just walked few minutes to the market.

This was the station we took our train - Ratechathewi Station. The ride costs 30 baht each person to Mo Chit Station.

This was one part of Chatuchak Market. In the market, they sell a lots of clothes, home decorations, wood carves, shoes, bags, etc. One of my colleague been to the market before, she told me that the market was very big and easy to lost our way back to the shop which we been before, I still cannot imagine it. But then, when i walked inside the market, I really know what she meant about lost in the market. The market was very big and lots of shop inside. Luckily, before we went into the market, we took a free market map from tourist police who give out the map at the market entrance. We walked almost 4 hours plus until my right foot cramped but still not finish quarter of the market. Too bad, Bangkok had heavy rain around 4pm. A lots of shop closed because there was little flood in the market cause of the drains were too shallow. At least, I bought some home decorations from the market.

The following are the items I bought at Chatuchak Market.

Wood Carve = 200 baht each.

Elephant Key Chains = 100 baht per pack.

Spider Key Chains = 100 baht per pack.

Mini Ice - Cream = 39 baht.
Mini Cake = 49 baht.

Tuk-Tuk = 80 baht each.

Short Skirt = 89 baht.

Duck Wood Carve = 150 baht.

Thailand Flag = 3 for 100 baht.

Massaging tool = 75 baht.

Bangkok, Wait for Me!!

In January, we have planned to go Bangkok as our company trip. After club discussion, our trip had planned for 4 days 3 nights trip to Bangkok and Pattaya from 23 June - 26 June 2007. My company club's president helped us make AirAsia tickets booking and hotel arrangement. We just needed to pay money for him. So, there are 12 people including me and two outsider joining the trip.

Since my passport was due in November 2006, I have to renew my passport. In May, my colleague and I went to renew my passport at Immigration Office located at Subang Airport Terminal 2. We done with the renew procedure around 9.30 am and the officer said that we can collect our passport in the afternoon 2pm. We did not went back to house or office, we just waited at the office for the collection. Around 2.30pm, we collected our passport and went home.

In early of June, when I read a newspaper to know the situation and news about Thailand. The news wrote out that the supporters of Thai formal Prime Minister will have a demonstration on 24 June. <( ~ o ~)> I just shouted out "How can this happen when we are going to have our trip there??!!" But what can we do about it since we already paid for the flight ticket and hotel. We still have to go there and hopefully nothing will happen.

Now, I start to pack my clothes, changers, toothbrush, etc into luggage; just in case I forget something else. In my hand luggage, I put my camera, portable storage device, fold-able bag, passport and wallet.

The most interesting part in my packing was I found a way to minimize the space in my luggage so that I can put more clothes in. I bought a box of sandwich zipped bag to vacuum-packed my clothes. I folded my cloth, put inside the bag, then roll the cloth to press the air out and quickly seal the bag. The clothes became vacuum-packed and the space needed in luggage became smaller. So, when I buy my favourite souvenirs in Bangkok, I still have space to put them.

I went to convert Malaysia Ringgit to Thai Baht at money changer counter in the shopping centre. I converted RM 550 to 5390 Thai Bath (RM0.30 change) with rate of RM10.20 to 100 Thai Bath.

This coming Saturday, I going to Bangkok.
So wish myself a good luck and have a nice trip!!

The Simpsons Movie

"The Simpsons Movie" is coming.

Last week, there was movie carnival held in One Utama's new wing centre hall. Many new movies were promoting there. Then I saw 3D Simpson family statues displayed at one of the corner for people to take photo with them. It was very beautiful and detail, so I was one of the people who took their photos. And I really want to bring these displays go back to my house. ,( ^ - ^ ), *Hehehe!* But too bad I cannot do it. ( T o T )
